About Us
The Giving Sir Gâr initiative has been set up in Carmarthenshire, with Welsh Assembly backing, to promote and celebrate different types of giving to voluntary and community groups and other good causes.
Carmarthenshire was the first county in Wales to develop this kind of initiative following the launch of Corporate Challenge Wales in 2005 and the initial establishment of Corporate Challenge Sir Gâr.
A key aim of the new initiative is to promote and develop links between business and the voluntary sector and to promote ‘corporate social responsibility’.
Giving Sir Gâr wishes to showcase and celebrate different types of giving by individuals, volunteers and companies. ‘Giving’ activities can include payroll-giving, Gift Aid, legacy giving, employee volunteering and other gifts of time, money and resources to good causes both locally in the county and far beyond.
